Dr Brendon Radford
Position: Director of Policy & Research
Brendon is the Director of Policy and Research and is responsible for leading our advocacy and research teams.
He commenced the role in January 2022 and has been with NSA since 2015 in various policy and advocacy roles. Previously, Brendon worked in various policy roles with the Queensland Council of Social Service and completed a Doctorate at Griffith University.
In 2017, Brendon was responsible for redefining NSA’s advocacy strategy to develop a stronger focus on proactive campaigns built from insights gleaned from our in-house research and community feedback processes. These campaigns have been designed to reflect the diversity of views and interests among older people. He is also responsible for in-house innovations, such as our Concessions Calculator tool.
Brendon takes a pragmatic view of the policy development process, seeking to build alliances and evidence for change to achieve positive outcomes for older Australians.
As a member of various government consultation groups via the Department of Health and Aged Care, Services Australia and ATO, Brendon advocates to improve policy and administration systems affecting older Australians.
