A trip to an overseas hospital, even for the most minor ailment, can be extremely costly. So, when considering travel insurance plans, there’s a few things you may want to check in the PDS.
Automatic cover for existing medical conditions: If you have an existing medical condition, check in the PDS if your condition will be covered automatically.

Medical assessment for conditions not automatically covered: If your condition is not automatically covered, it doesn’t always mean the insurer won’t cover you – you may require further medical assessment.

The insurance provider will then determine what they are prepared to cover.
