Commissioner seeks your views
Have your say about culturally safe aged care for First Nations people.
The Interim First Nations Aged Care Commissioner, Andrea Kelly, wants to hear from older First Nations people, families, communities, and stakeholders to understand their views about:
- The changes needed to support culturally safe, trauma aware and healing informed access to the aged care system for First Nations older people, carers, families and communities
- Whether there should be a permanent, statutory First Nations Aged Care Commissioner, and their functions and authority.
Submissions are welcome via formal submission, email to interimFNACCconsultations@health.gov.au, or post (including handwritten letters or notes) addressed to Interim First Nations Aged Care Commissioner, GPO Box 9848, Canberra ACT 2601.
Make sure to have your say before consultations close at 5pm (AEST) on Friday 21 June 2024.
